A Little Bit About Me

Welcome...

to my absolute first blog evah! My name is Donna Montgomery, aka High-Heeled Gardener, and I'm so excited/scared/nervous about this new endeavor, so I hope you'll enjoy following me here and on the other social media sites including my FaceBook page, High-Heeled Gardener.

I was born in the dead of winter in Michigan and raised in Ohio. I moved South for college, never to return to the cold, cold North again! Thirteen years ago, I became single again, and had to get back to the basics of what makes me, "me". I love the outdoors, especially the water--the beach, the river, the lake, a pond, a creek, a fountain, a water faucet--Haha--and my latest passion is my beautiful granddaughter, Ellory, who is the light of my very heart!

I have two grown children whom I love like life itself! My daughter is a beautiful, talented person--a graphic designer, teacher, wife and new "Mom." My handsome son is an energetic guy--a daredevil, top salesman for his construction company (roofing and anything exterior), as well as in his personal life--he buys and sells (flips) boats and cars and, more recently, houses--I'm pretty sure he could sell ice cubes to Eskimos! My children have always supported my crazy, creative endeavors! I am blessed to have such a wonderful family!

My day job use to involve accounting, data entry, and other administrative support. After years and years (and years) of office work, I decided it was time for a change. I became a Nanny! I have watched many infants and toddlers and enjoy watching them learn and grow. I also sit with my sweet mom who has Alzheimer's and I give my dad a break. Those two lovebirds are inseparable most of the time though! I also keep books online for a small business. It's what I know. But I also need a creative outlet to feel alive. At the very core of who I am is God and I depend on Him daily. My spiritual life keeps me grounded.

So, now that you know a bit about me, please "like" this page via the Facebook link at the top and feel free to send me a message on the "Contact" page and tell me about yourself! I'd love to hear from you!
