To-MAY-to, To-MAH-to...Po-TAY-to, Po-TAH-to

Every evening, I go out to my square-foot garden and collect more Roma and cherry tomatoes. It's like receiving a blessing at the end of the work day!

Over the weekend, I took the cherry tomatoes to a friend's house for a cookout, along with some other garden goodies. I left it to the "chef" to decide what to do with them. He immediately "skewered" the tommies with the few pearl onions I had and placed them on the grill. They were bursts of heavenly flavor in our mouths and went great with the roasted ears of corn and steak medalions we grilled!

Just before I left for the cookout, I took my trusty garden fork and dug up some new red potatoes from a container near my raised bed. I lightly scrubbed each one, diced them, drizzled with olive oil, added fresh Rosemary from the porch, sprinkled with sea salt and minced garlic and cooked them until golden brown in an iron skillet for an amazing, aromatic side dish!

There's something very "earthy" about sharing your garden's bounty with friends! It's as if you planted each item for such an occasion as this! Happy harvesting!
